8 Tips to Avoid Summer Productivity Slam

Working during summers could be hectic. Not only because of the rising temperature, but because you planned to go on a vacation and wanted to spend the sunny days by the sea having some barbecue followed by a volleyball game with your friends or family. After those shattered plans, you might not be able to focus on your work. Here are the 8 tips to avoid summer productivity slam and to make you and co-workers or employees productive again.

1. Maintain the temperature:

A study has revealed that there is a significant drop in the efficiency due to high temperature. Working for hours in a hot room kills the enthusiasm and energy. Hence it is extremely essential that the air conditioning of the workplace is properly maintained. As soon as the summers come by knocking on the door, technicians must be approached for the maintenance of the cooling system.

2. Identify the interest:

Working on the interests and passion of your employees could prove to be a vital strategy. Assign each of them tasks that they are personally passionate about. Having a keen and personal interest in the task will not only make them work with energy and enthusiasm, but they will be more productive and develop certain skills that will be beneficial for your company.

3. Offer Bonuses:

Assign them tasks and offer bonuses upon completion. Think of them as kids. Parents motivate their children to perform well in academics or to carry out their everyday chores by rewarding them with extra pocket money, chocolates, taking them to the park or maybe buying them an Xbox. In the same way, rewarding your employees with some shopping vouchers, incentives, adventure trips vouchers or maybe appreciating in front of others and acknowledging their achievements could boost their morale and motivate them for working even harder.

4. Don’t stop day dreaming:

If you find yourself or any of your employees looking out of the window daydreaming, don’t discourage it. Of course you can’t expect anyone to work continuously throughout the day. Daydreaming could provide them the break that they desperately want and it could increase their creativity significantly.

5. Make plans on weekends:

Plan activities on weekends. Planning a staff gathering, dinner or picnic will contribute to the cause. What if they couldn’t go on a vacation? Make them feel that they can have fun right here with the people they have.

6. Embrace teamwork:

Assign your employees tasks and projects, and make them meet the deadlines as a team. Working together could boost the morale and could make them feel home from where they wouldn’t want to rush in a hurry after spending the whole doing nothing significant.

7. Compromise on work time:

Doesn’t matter if your employees don’t want to work from 9-5. Let them have half days off sometimes so that they could work with full potential and ability in rest of the days.

8. Strategize yourself:

With a number of employees off on vacations during summers, your office would have enough silence for you to make strategies to take the best of your employees as soon as they return.
